From an industrial scar to an urban oasis.
This park once Hornsby Quarry was established in 1905 where it supplied ‘blue metal’ used to build Sydney’s Roads and railways. Today it’s been reimagined into a bushland park while preserving its history. I loved getting lost in the history of this park and enjoyed trying to capture the rebirth of nature in this space.

From an industrial scar to an urban oasis.
This park once Hornsby Quarry was established in 1905 where it supplied ‘blue metal’ used to build Sydney’s Roads and railways. Today it’s been reimagined into a bushland park while preserving its history. I loved getting lost in the history of this park and enjoyed trying to capture the way nature heals the landscape. The title is a nod to the rock engraving ‘Prosperity around the corner’ found on the heritage steps from the great depression.
