Days, Nights & Yesterdays Exhibition

The collection ‘Days, Nights and Yesterdays’ is a visual exploration of time, memory, and the magic of the places we call home. As an artist, I am constantly inspired by the way light shifts across the landscape—from the vibrant, sun-drenched energy of our local beaches to the quiet, reflective glow of the coastline at dusk.

My creative process often begins with my camera roll; these snapshots, capturing the fleeting light and coastal energy of Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, serve as a constant source of inspiration and a digital diary of the scenes that move me.

In this body of work, I capture the 'everyday adventures' that define our lives. The 'Days'in this collection celebrate the immediate joy of the present—the spark of colour on a morning walk or the shared energy of a local community. The 'Nights' delve into a moodier, more atmospheric palette, exploring the familiar silhouettes of rock pools and headlands under the stars. Finally, 'Yesterdays' serves as a bridge to the past, drawing on my own nostalgia for the late 1880s and early 1900s to commemorate the history and local activities that shaped our area.

Working primarily with acrylics, my approach is intuitive and evolving. I use colour as a language to evoke connection and happiness, inviting the viewer to step into these scenes and find a piece of their own story within them. My hope is that these paintings serve as a reminder to cherish the simple, beautiful moments that make up the story of our lives."
